Earth Rocker is the tenth studio album by the American rock band Clutch, released in 2013 on their own label, Weathermaker Music. This hard rock album marks a bold departure from the band’s earlier bluesy, funky stoner sound, offering a faster, more powerful and primal onslaught of heavy riffs and instinctive energy. Produced by Machine, who previously produced their 2004 album Blast Tyrant, it emphasises rigorous pre-production and fully fleshed-out songs, resulting in streamlined, hard-hitting tracks that capture the raw fury of their live performances. Influenced by touring with Motörhead, the album dispenses with vintage jams in favour of exhilarating speed, amplified guitar growls and grooving boogie, evoking 70s hard rock with a sharp, anthemic drive.
