*Bad Boys Of Comedy* is the debut album by Lammping, a psych-rock band from Toronto. The album was released on LP in 2020 and is characterised by a unique take on the genre. Lammping combines heavy guitar riffs and stoner rock influences with surprisingly layered harmonies. The result is a fresh, contemporary psychedelic sound that bridges the classic and the modern. The band draws inspiration from a wide range of sources, including Tropicalia, Turkish psychedelia and the distinctive drum rhythms of New York’s boom-bap hip-hop. This makes the music rich in atmosphere and detail, without becoming repetitive or directly referencing their predecessors. Lammping’s approach is playful, inventive and accessible, and their love for musical styles from different eras and corners of the world can be heard in every track. *Bad Boys Of Comedy* falls within the psychedelic rock genre, but cannot easily be pigeonholed. The album sounds like a meeting of raw energy and harmony, with influences blending seamlessly into one another.
