‘In The Ruins’ by Wolvennest is a dark, compelling work in which psychedelic black metal, doom metal and ambient rock converge. The album builds its atmosphere through heavy, deliberate rhythms, distorted guitars, ritualistic repetitions and spatial textures that evoke a sense of isolation and age-old mystery. Rather than relying on conventional song structures, it unfolds as a slow, hypnotic journey in which menace and contemplation coexist. The LP, released in 2026, reflects Wolvennest’s interest in occult imagery and a sweeping soundscape. The music oscillates between monolithic heaviness, eerie tranquillity and rousing intensity, lending the record a ceremonial quality. The combination of psychedelic ethereality, black-metal darkness and doom-like heaviness makes the album ideally suited to focused listening, allowing its gradual development and dense atmosphere to come into their own.
