Volume Tree by Tidal Wave, released in 2026, is the Swedish stoner rock band’s third full-length album, released on LP via Ripple Music. This heavy rock album showcases the raucous quartet at their loudest, with a mix of in-your-face stoner rock and classic heavy metal bravura, epic riffs, unstoppable dynamics and Alexander ‘Sunkan’ Sundqvist’s overwhelming vocals. The album was recorded in three studios, mixed by three engineers and mastered by Joona Hassinen at Studio Underjord. It reveals a sinister side that is more intense than on their 2019 debut album Blueberry Muffin or 2023’s The Lord Knows, featuring grunge influences, progressive twists and a modern punch akin to brass knuckles. Lyrically fresh and riff-driven, Volume Tree revels in Black Sabbath worship whilst exploring themes such as stories of redemption, all delivered by the Sundsvall quartet: Jesper ‘Jupiter’ Sjödin on guitar, Adam ‘Aden’ Nordin on bass and Rasmus ‘Raz’ Sundberg on drums. The artwork by Kristoffer Nordgren of Prettyshittyinc complements the stoner-tinged hard rock sound, steeped in grunge influences from 90s Seattle, with which Tidal Wave further cements its mark on the Swedish stoner scene.
